Fixed Income Overview
We manage our fixed income portfolios to produce results over the course of a business cycle. Client portfolios are managed separately according to individual needs and risk parameters to preserve wealth and generate income. We develop specific investment guidelines with each client by focusing on security and sector exposure limits, risk tolerances and tax considerations. In addition, for those interested, we have the ability to manage state-specific tax-efficient portfolios by utilizing municipal bonds and other tax-advantaged vehicles. Often sample portfolios are constructed to give investors a more complete understanding of both the securities to be utilized and the process to be implemented.
The fixed income strategy involves actively managing portfolios to produce conservative risk-adjusted returns, with a focus on high quality securities. All changes to a portfolio are made on a gradual basis and annual portfolio turnover is low. Separate approaches are developed for taxable and tax-exempt investors.
